Fluted oak and travertine.
Large travertine-effect tiles, a fluted oak-effect shower wall and matt black fittings.

Big tiles, and one wall that stands out.
Travertine effect across the walls and the floor, in a format that keeps the grout lines few. Opposite it in the shower sits a fluted wall in oak effect, and every fitting is matt black. That is the whole palette for Hannah's terrace bathroom: two materials and one colour.
- roman blind
- tall cabinet
- wall-hung WC

- rain shower
- handset
- fluted wall

The travertine runs straight through
The same tile on the wall and on the floor, right into the shower. Nothing stops the eye, so a narrow room reads wider than it is. The drain is long and dark, which keeps the floor one surface rather than a slab with a hole in it.
- fluted recess
- flush plate
- wall-hung WC

The shower got a wall of its own
The fluted oak-effect panel sits in the shower area only and runs from floor to ceiling. Against it hang a matt black rain shower on a riser rail, a handset on a slide rail below and a matt black thermostatic valve.
- thermostatic valve
- fluted wall
- linear drain

The WC sits under its own recess
Above the wall-hung WC is a recess lined in the same fluted tile, with a black flush plate below it. Nearby stands a tall dark timber cabinet, and over the wide white basin hangs an oval mirror with a soft light behind it.
Two to three weeks, and we come and look first.
This bathroom was built the same way as every other one we hand over: thirteen stages from strip-out to handover, and most of them you never see again once it is finished. That is exactly where a bathroom that lasts parts company with one that starts leaking. The whole job takes two to three weeks, and we come round before anything goes on paper.
More work.
We come and look before a single tile comes off.
At your house or online, your choice. We go through all of it: the floor, the grout, the sealant, the falls, the waste. After that you know exactly what is going on and what will work in your room.
